The Navy on Monday announced the results of the spring petty officer advancement cycle.

Overall, advancement opportunity increased slightly, rising to an 18.6 percent chance at moving up, compared with the 16.69 percent opportunity last fall.

In the reserve force, there was an overall advancement opportunity of 24.6 percent for the 10,996 test-passers. there were 591 quotas for E-6, with an advancement opportunity of 11.3 percent; 1,138 slots for E-5, with a 28.2 percent chance to advance; and 978 quotas at E-4, for an advancement opportunity of 66.1 percent.
