Maine senator receiving high honors from Navy

PORTLAND, Maine — Maine Sen. Susan Collins is receiving high honors from the Navy.

Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus is scheduled to present Collins with the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award.

The award is the highest public service honor bestowed by the Navy and is awarded to civilians for service that benefits the Navy and Marine Corps.

The ceremony is scheduled for late Tuesday afternoon in Washington.
