The Army’s dwindling menu of enlistment bonus options remains frozen at two military occupational specialties, a reflection of the service’s success at recruiting quality young people for the active component.
Under changes to the Enlistment Bonus Incentive Program announced April 9, only MOS 09L, interpreter and translator with a proficiency in Pashtu-Afghan, and 35P, cryptologic linguist, remain eligible for traditional enlistment bonuses.
Bonus amounts under the updated program range from:
$10,000 to $40,000 for enlistments of three, four, five or six years in 09L
$10,000 to $20,000 for enlistments of four to six years in 35P.
The Army still offers special incentives to certain enlistees for:
The Loan Repayment Program
The Army Civilian Acquired Skills Bonus Program.
