SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — The Army will hold a ceremony Friday at Fort Huachuca for Maj. Gen. Robert P. Ashley to formally take command of the base in Sierra Vista.

Ashley previously served as deputy chief of staff for intelligence of coalition forces in Afghanistan.

He is replacing Maj. Gen. Greg Potter as head of both Fort Huachuca and the Intelligence Center of Excellence.

Potter has already left for an assignment in Afghanistan.

Friday’s ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. at Brown Parade Field.
