CAMP PENDLETON, CALIF. — A Camp Pendleton Marine who claimed she was raped has pleaded not guilty at a court-martial to adultery and impeding an investigation.
U-T San Diego reported that the woman, a staff sergeant whose name is being withheld, entered the pleas Monday. If convicted, she faces up to a year in jail and a dishonorable discharge.
The woman and another staff sergeant had sex in a hotel room last year after several hours of drinking. She is charged with falsely claiming that she was too drunk to consent to sex.
Her husband of 17 years reported the alleged adultery.
The Marine who had sex with the woman testified Monday that he didn't know she was married and that she never appeared too intoxicated to give her consent.
