PORTSMOUTH, VA. — The Portsmouth-based Coast Guard cutter Harriet Lane has a new commander.
Cmdr. Michael Cribbs relieved Cmdr. Adam Wasserman during a change of command ceremony Tuesday in Portsmouth.
Cribbs recently served as deputy chief of cutter forces at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Wasserman is assuming duties as chief of major cutter forces for the Coast Guard’s Atlantic Area, a Portsmouth command.
The Coast Guard says Wasserman led the Harriet Lane’s 110-person crew on six patrols over two years. The Harriet Lane participated in two Joint Interagency Task Force South patrols that prevented narcotics worth millions of dollars from being smuggled into the United States.
