Pandolfe is serving as commander of Sixth Fleet; commander of Striking and Support Forces NATO; deputy commander of U.S. Naval Forces Europe; deputy commander of U.S. Naval Forces Africa and commander of Joint Force Maritime Component, Europe, Naples, Italy.

Pandolfe graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1980, and holds a doctorate in international relations from Tufts University.

He led the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group during a combat deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from 2008 to 2009.

He also served as director of Surface Warfare Division, OPNAV N86, and led efforts to introduce the littoral combat ship to the fleet, according to his official bio.
