GROTON, CONN. — The Navy is changing commanders at its Submarine School in Groton.

The Navy announced Tuesday that Capt. Andrew Jerrett will relieve Capt. David Roberts as commanding officer in July.

Roberts, who has been the commanding officer since August 2011, is staying at the submarine base to take command of the Submarine Learning Center.

The learning center is responsible for coordinating training efforts at the Navy’s six submarine training sites across the nation.

Jerrett comes to the Submarine School from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., where he is the deputy commandant of Midshipmen.
