1-star assignment announced

Rear Adm. Brett Heimbigner will be assigned as deputy director, National Clandestine Service for Community Human Intelligence, Langley, Va., Navy leaders announced Thursday in a Defense Department news release.

Heimbigner is serving as director of intelligence, J2, U.S. Northern Command, Colorado Springs, Colo. The one-star graduated from the University of Washington in 1987 and from the Naval War College in 2002, according to his Navy leadership biography, and has earned a Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and a Bronze Star.
