GRANBURY, TEXAS — More than 15 sailors are joining volunteers to rebuild homes destroyed by a North Texas tornado last month.

The sailors are pitching in with volunteers from Habitat for Humanity on Friday to rebuild a Habitat-built house destroyed by the May 15 tornado in the Rancho Brazos neighborhood of Granbury.

Reconstruction work is sponsored by the General Motors Foundation in partnership with Habitat for Humanity International.

As part of the rebuilding efforts for Hood County, GM pledged $500,000 to Habitat for Humanity. At the same time, Community Bank and Hood County Habitat for Humanity raised more than $160,000 for recovering efforts.
