JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — The City of Jacksonville will not continue the Navy-Marine Corps Classic in 2013.
The city's Public Communications Manager Aleizha Batson confirmed the discontinuation of the college basketball game, which was played between Florida and Georgetown on top of the amphibious assault ship Bataan last November.
The game had to be called early due to too much condensation on the court.
Last year, the Ohio State vs. Marquette Carrier Classic on the decommissioned aircraft carrier Yorktown had to be canceled completely due to too much condensation on the court.
It cost the city more than $700,000 to host the 2012 Navy-Marine Corps Classic.
