Brig. Gen. Carl Mundy III will take over as the commanding general of 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade on Wednesday, Marine officials said.
Mundy served most recently as the executive officer to the commander of U.S. Central Command, currently Army Gen. Lloyd Austin. Mundy is the son of Gen. Carl Mundy Jr., the retired 30th commandant of the Marine Corps.
Mundy will replace Brig. Gen. John Broadmeadow. He has been selected to pin on a second star and lead Marine Corps Logistics Command, out of Albany, Ga.
