FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Two jurors have been seated for the court-martial of a U.S. Army general facing sexual misconduct charges.
The Fayetteville Observer reports that the jurors were seated Friday in the court-martial of Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair.
Jury selection is set to resume Aug. 6, and all of the jurors are to be generals who are senior to Sinclair. The trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 30.
A minimum of five jurors is needed. On Thursday, four were dismissed after Col. James Pohl told the court that, because the jurors knew a potential witness in the case, they could be deemed biased.
Sinclair has pleaded not guilty to eight charges that include forcible sodomy, indecent acts, violating orders and adultery.
