JUNEAU, ALASKA — Juneau police and the Coast Guard are investigating the death of a guardsman.
The Juneau Empire reports the body of 43-year-old Paul DíAngelo was found Saturday when a co-worker stopped to check on him. Officials couldnít determine the cause of death because of the advanced state of decomposition. The body has been sent to Anchorage for an autopsy.
Authorities said DíAngelo hadnít been to work for about two weeks because of an illness. Lt. David Campbell says they are aware of medical issues, and medication was found at the home. There were no indications of suicide.
The Coast Guardís Investigative Service, its federal law enforcement arm, is investigating. The service conducts the Coast Guardís internal and external criminal investigations.
