Coast Guard cutter damaged while moored in Cordova

CORDOVA, ALASKA — A Coast Guard cutter moored in Cordova was damaged Sunday when a barge hit it.

The Coast Guard said in a release that the cutter Sycamore suffered damaged on its port bow. The 225-foot buoy tender makes its home port in Cordova.

The Coast Guard said there had been no reports of injuries or pollution. They are investigating the incident.

The crew of the Sycamore does search and rescue as well as law enforcement throughout Alaska.
