Results of the fiscal 2013 Regular Army captain promotion selection boards that met in April will be released Thursday morning.
The lists contain the names of basic-branch first lieutenants recommended for advancement by the Army Competitive Category board that met April 9-May 1, and the Army Medical Department board that met April 2-12.
Under a policy change designed to provide first lieutenants with an additional six months for professional development and educational activities, the average pin-on point to O-3 for these officers will be 48 months, rather than the 42-month standard of the recent past.
The lists do not require Senate confirmation, which means promotions can begin as soon as the Army schedules them.
