Bliss soldier dies of non-combat related illness

A Fort Bliss soldier died Sunday, the Defense Department has announced.

First Lt. Timothy G. Santos Jr., 29, of Helena, Ala., died in Fort Bliss from a non-combat related illness that was diagnosed March 24 in Kuwait City, Kuwait, the DoD said in a news release. It did not give further details about the illness.

Santos was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss.
