Several Fort Hood, Texas, units near the Hood Army Airfield were on lockdown for about a half-hour Friday morning after a false rumor of an active shooter in the area.

Fort Hood emergency services personnel responded and “determined that there was not a threat and the situation was resolved,” Fort Hood public affairs said in a news release.

The units were put on lockdown at about 9:30 a.m. The all clear was given at about 10 a.m., said Tyler Broadway, a Fort Hood spokesman.

The soldiers have resumed normal activities, according to the news release.
