6 airmen convicted of sex offenses in Aug.

The Air Force has released the first of what it says will be monthly lists of airmen found guilty of sex offenses at court-martial. August convictions:

■Senior Airman Aaron Stubbs of the Air Force Academy sexually assaulted a woman at her home in December after she left a base party they both attended. He was sentenced to 15 months’ confinement, a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of pay, reduction to E-1 and a reprimand.

■Senior Airman Alexander Rowe of Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, forcibly sodomized a man in March after the victim passed out in a hotel room. He was sentenced to two years’ confinement, a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of pay and reduction to E-1.

■Airman 1st Class Paulo Walters of Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, raped a woman after she fell asleep in his dorm room in August 2012. He was sentenced to four years’ confinement, a bad conduct discharge and reduction to E-1.

■Airman 1st Class Nehral Maliwat of Joint Base Charleston, S.C., raped a woman in his dorm room in October 2012. He was sentenced to two years’ confinement, a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of pay and reduction to E-1. He was acquitted of abusive sexual contact of a second woman.

■Staff Sgt. Rocky Lister of Beale Air Force Base, Calif., was accused of grabbing the breast of a woman he worked with on multiple occasions; videotaping a second woman without her consent; hitting and threatening to kill a third woman; and sending a picture of his genitalia to a fourth victim between July 2009 and August 2012. He was convicted of indecent conduct, assault and surreptitiously videotaping another person and was sentenced to two years’ confinement, reduction to E-1 and a bad conduct discharge. He was found not guilty of wrongful sexual contact and communicating a threat.

■Airman 1st Class Joshua Chappell-Denzer of Travis Air Force Base, Calif., was convicted of multiple counts of rape, sexual assault and forcible sodomy, plus one specification each of abusive sexual contact and battery. There were three victims in the case, two of whom were civilians. He was sentenced to 10 years’ confinement, a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of pay and reduction to E-1.
