The Army has too many soldiers serving as air and missile defense crew members and has placed MOS 13S in the Fast Track reclassification and re-enlistment program. Under Fast Track, the Army is urging 13S nonpromotable sergeants first class and below to reclassify to MOS 14T, the specialty for launching station operators and maintainers for the enhanced Patriot air defense system.
If there aren’t enough volunteers, the Army will require a certain number of soldiers to reclassify and bring MOS 13S into balance with requirements.
Soldiers who want to reclassify should submit a request on DA Form 4187 to the personnel proponent for Air Defense Artillery at Fort Sill, Okla. Soldiers who are approved for a transfer will be awarded MOS 14T with additional skill identifier Y2 (training required). Soldiers must complete transition training by Dec. 31, 2015, to be permanently awarded 14T.
