A non-cadet airman assigned to the Air Force Academy was found not guilty of sexual assault in a court-martial that ended Jan. 11.

Airman First Class Justin Burback was accused of sexually assaulting a female enlisted airman, the academy said in a September release. The academy held an Article 32 hearing — the equivalent of a civilian grand jury proceeding — to investigate the accusation that month.

Burback’s court-martial lasted six days, the academy said in a Jan. 13 release. He was found not guilty by a 10-member panel of officers and non-commissioned officers.

Burback continues to be assigned at the academy.
