Officers in the Navy Reserve holding the right medical skills could qualify for up to $75,000 if they agree to stay in for at least three more years.
The Navy released new retention-bonus figures Tuesday in a fleetwide message, NAVADMIN 009/14. The two-tiered system offers $75,000 bonuses ($25,000 annual payments during a three-year re-up) to some officers and $30,000 ($10,000 annual payments over three years) to others.
Only members of the Selected Reserve can qualify; those in the Individual Ready Reserve arent eligible.
Among other eligibility rules, officers must not have received a previous retention bonus, or be receiving other incentive pay as part of their current contract. A full list of requirements is available in the NAVADMIN.
The levels will remain in place until the end of this year unless new guidance is issued, according to the message.
