“Enlisted” creator Kevin Biegel invited Military Times to Hollywood for a behind-the-scenes peek at filming for tonight’s episode “Vets,” which depicts Army brothers Pete, Derrick and Randy paired up with three veterans. “But when they realize the men are future versions of themselves, it causes them each to evaluate their own lives,” according to Fox. The episode airs at 9 p.m. Eastern.
Now Biegel and his fellow producer Mike Royce are inviting Military Times readers to join them and several cast members for a live chat on Twitter before and during tonight’s episode. You can follow them at:

Our visit to the “Enlisted” set was in September, months before the first episode had premiered. But the haters were already hating. And for good reason. An early trailer for the show, based entirely on the show’s Enlisted’s pilot episode, was circulating online, and it wasn’t pretty. And Biegel knew it.
“What sucks,” he said during a break in filming, “is that the first view of what the show could be was this horribly cut trailer from Fox. It was like, ‘Hey, it’s the wacky Army show.’ That just made me nuts. Even the voice over” — his voice shifts to his best cheesy narrator impression intoning, — “ ‘war could not defeat them’ — that’s so not the show.”
It’s part of the reason he invited Military Times out to his set — to see how hard he and his crew have been working at it — and in our view, it’s gotten much funnier.
But whether you love or hate “Enlisted,” it’s hard not to like Biegel. He and the cast will start answering questions at 8:45 p.m. Eastern “and then live tweet the rest of the night till the end of the 9 p.m. West Coast showing and probably past that a bit,” he says. Be sure to check it out.
