PORTSMOUTH, VA. — The Coast Guard’s 5th District based in Portsmouth is getting a new leader.

Officials are scheduled to hold a change of command ceremony on Wednesday.

Rear Adm. Stephen P. Metruck is scheduled to assume command of the district. He’ll relieve Rear Adm. Steven H. Ratti, who has served as the district’s commander since April 2012.

As commander, Metruck will oversee operations in navigable waters from the middle of New Jersey to the South Carolina border.
