Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced today that the president has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Marshall B. Webb for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Special Operations headquarters in Mons, Belgium.
Webb is currently serving as commander of Special Operations Command Europe and director of special operations for U.S. European Command in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh announced two other assignments:
■ Maj. Gen. Dwyer L. Dennis, program executive officer for fighters and bombers at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, will move to director of global reach programs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at the Pentagon.
■ Col. Eric T. Fick, selected for the grade of brigadier general, will replace Dennis as program executive officer for fighters and bombers at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. He is currently program executive officer for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and special operations forces at the center, which is part of Air Force Materiel Command.
