Military caregivers, who often need to find additional employment to support their families, may face the risk of job discrimination because of their family responsibilities in caring for their wounded, ill or injured service member. A free webinar is being offered at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday outlining workplace rights and responsibilities and the threat of family responsibility discrimination for military caregivers.
There’s still time to register at the Easter Seals website.
All registered attendees will receive an email with the webinar directions on Thursday.
Donna Wagner, associate dean for academics in the College of Health and Social Services at New Mexico State University, will present the webinar.
Wagner, who has conducted research on the intersection of work and family life for more than 30 years, is president of the Association of Gerontology in Higher Education, a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America, and a member of the board of directors of the National Alliance for Caregiving.
This is part of a monthly webinar series to meet the growing need for caregiver education and training, through a partnership with the Easter Seals Dixon Center and the Elizabeth Dole Foundation.
