Congress to debate school access for recruiters
I’m fine with the recruiters receiving students’ names and addresses, but my support stops at [providing] phone numbers. The path a high school graduate decides to take is best worked out with his or her parents, not a military recruiter. My high school senior has received countless mailings from various schools and has already been accepted to her (our) first choice. Not one mailing has come from a military recruiter. Maybe it is because our school district does not accept funds from the No Child Left Behind Act.

Helo plan would create spec-ops support units
If there’s enough demand to justify it, and they can do it without neglecting the rest of the helo units, why not?

White House apologizes for botched photo op
Definitely the work of poor judgment, bad management and naive leaders. Or there is more behind the story, which I wouldn’t doubt. Seems like an awful waste of money just for a photo. Then again, this administration has spent more in less than 100 days in office than Bush did on Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

Amendment X, U.S. Constitution
So [do] we as citizens of our states have the backbone necessary to forego federal funding for things like highways, etc., in return for states being fully able to live as stated in the 10th Amendment? Do we want a stronger or weaker central federal government to the extent that the feds are involved in our daily lives?

As long as we accept federal funds for anything, the federal government can step in and make us do what it deems necessary.
