SecNav, CNO: Women should serve on subs
Women can serve just as effectively as men. Can women be introduced to subs and work effectively? Yes. Will it still be voluntary service? Yes. Many women get pregnant to get off the ship, out of sea duty or out of the Navy. If the sub force is all voluntary, chances of pregnancy to get out of the duty greatly diminishes.

I blame the leadership. There is no reason why men and woman can’t cohabitate. All the problems cited, with the exception of separate bathrooms and such, stem from poor professionalism. If sailors can’t control themselves on any vessel then they should be booted out, simple as that.

Congress wants to put hate-group ban into law
I am interested in seeing the list of hate groups banned. What I took away from the article is that it isn’t needed. The military already has regulations in place to keep members of hate groups out.

MANDATORY flu vaccines?
While it is true that the flu is typically a mild, self-limiting illness, serious complications can develop, and it’s generally considered wiser to vaccinate vulnerable populations like children and the elderly. Soldiers who routinely share close working and living spaces should also be vaccinated to prevent the spread of the illness. Good personal hygiene habits like hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes with tissues or a sleeve (not your hands), and staying home when you are ill are good ways to prevent the spread of any airborne disease. The current levels of H1N1 infection are actually still below epidemic rates. Young children and pregnant women are more vulnerable to this strain of flu and should consider vaccinations.

NAVY ROLLING OUT NEW RECRUITING SLOGAN
The video seems like it is aimed toward that USMC/Army recruit who might look at the Navy as another option. Look on the bright side — we got new uniforms and a new slogan all in the same year. The Navy is changing so fast, what’s next? Soldiers and airmen on ships?
