5 Coasties to go through SEAL training

I absolutely do not get this. I understand that the Coast Guard is trying to develop its SpecOps capability, but since 95 percent of the skill sets in Naval Special Warfare don’t transfer to Coast Guard missions, this seems like a total waste of time and money.

Maybe as a special assault team in the Caribbean — they would be nice to have for a “hostile” boarding of a drug runner.

Any particular reason four officers and one enlisted man was chosen? That isn’t even close to actual manning ratios in the SEALs. Smacks of wannabe warrior syndrome to me.

Navy: Call girl actually retired at O-3

Why did they let her retire at all? They should strip her of all benefits for acting like that. This isn’t some little mistake, she made an ongoing conscious decision to behave in a way that was obviously counter to the basic Navy tenets.

Tough new rules for blue cammies released

If the Army and the Air Force can wear their uniforms out in public, why can’t we? If the Navy doesn’t want us wearing our uniforms out in town because they are an eyesore, then change it. The new cammies look sharp. I am proud to wear the uniform, but if I can’t wear it in public, what is the point?
