The Navy on Wednesday identified Lt. Christian Hescock, 34, of Oregon City, Ore., as the pilot who died when his MH-60 Seahawk helicopter crashed Monday into a reservoir on Guam.

The three other sailors aboard the helicopter were hurt in the crash, but the Navy has not identified them; they were being treated at Naval Hospital Guam.

The Seahawk and its crew belong to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25, based at Andersen Air Force Base on Guam.

Local new outlets reported that the Navy is investigating the crash, and that authorities planned to the pull the helicopter from the water where it crashed during a training flight.

Hescock enlisted in the Navy in 1994, according to personnel records; he went on to graduate from San Diego State University and took his commission in 2002. His brother has set up a memorial Web site for him.
