300 sailors deploy Sunday to Mediterranean

NORFOLK, Va. — About 300 sailors stationed aboard the guided-missile destroyer Barry are heading to the Mediterranean Sea, the Navy said.
The ship will deploy from Norfolk on Sunday as part of the Standing Naval Maritime Groups. The groups are multinational forces that assist NATO around the world.
The crew will participate in training exercises with allies and make diplomatic port calls, officials said.
