Posted : Thursday Oct 30, 2008 10:17:32 EDT
Adm. William Fallon, the former U.S. Central Command commander, will serve as a distinguished fellow at the Center for Naval Analyses and as the Robert E. Wilhelm Fellow at MIT’s Center for International Studies.
“We are so delighted that Adm. Fallon has agreed to join CNA. His experiences at the highest levels of the U.S. military and his expertise on strategic issues will be an essential addition to our research program,” said Christine Fox, CNA president, in a recent statement.
Fallon, who retired from the Navy after a 41-year career, will address a range of issues, such as China, Iraq, Afghanistan, joint war fighting and interagency decision-making, according to the statement.
CNA is a federally funded research and development center focused on the Navy and other defense agencies.
Fallon is a graduate of the Naval War College and the National War College, and he holds a master’s degree in international studies from Old Dominion University.
He received the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal Air Medal, and the Navy Commendation Medal.
