Posted : Wednesday Dec 24, 2008 15:50:14 EST
EDENTON, N.C. — President Bush has made a Christmas Eve phone call to a Coast Guard petty officer from North Carolina.
Bush spent part of Wednesday morning at Camp David phoning U.S. troops stationed around the world. One of the calls went to Petty Officer 2nd Class Larry N. Ambrose of Edenton. He is currently deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The White House said Bush called nine members of the armed forces to wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. He also thanked them for their service.
Ambrose is deployed with Coast Guard Port Security Unit 305 of Fort Eustis, Va. He serves as a leading Petty Officer and Security Fire Team Leader.
The White House said the president asked Ambrose to pass along holiday wishes to others serving with him.
