NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Several military and veterans facilities in Tennessee will be getting millions in funds through the federal stimulus package to start construction on new buildings, repair aging infrastructure and improve energy usage.
Tennessee will be getting more than $22 million through the Defense Department and another $18 million through the Department of Veterans Affairs. The facilities getting improvements include National Guard, Navy and Air Force and all four VA medical centers in Tennessee.
Like the road construction funds that Tennessee is also getting through the stimulus package, the projects will be available for local firms and businesses to bid on and is designed to create jobs.
