Obama headlines May events at Naval Academy

President Barack Obama’s speech for this year’s graduating class of midshipmen is the culminating event on a schedule of May events announced Monday by the Naval Academy.

The Naval Academy is one of just three universities where Obama has agreed to deliver a commencement address this year, along with Arizona State University and Notre Dame. Obama’s commencement speech in Annapolis is scheduled for May 22.

Other events scheduled for May include the “sea trials” capstone physical course for freshmen mids May 12; the traditional scramble up the Herndon Monument on May 18; and a performance by the Blue Angels above the Severn River on May 20.
