Seabees help out at Miss. elementary school

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. — When the Seabees asked if they could help out at Pineville Elementary, Principal Jackie Graves starting making a list.
Personnel from the Naval Construction Battalion Center's Naval Branch Health Clinic in Gulfport will mentor and tutor students, proctor tests, be guest speakers, chaperone trips, provide support at field-day events, and help with fitness programs and vocational skill training.
They'll also complete some minor construction projects and be available as guest speakers.
Graves told The Sun Herald their biggest job is to be on campus in their uniforms.
She said many of the 134 students at the small K-6 school come from single-parent homes and need positive role models.
