Officer tapped for 3rd star, new assignment

Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced Monday that the president has nominated Rear Adm. William R. Burke for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment as deputy chief of naval operations for fleet readiness and logistics, N4, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon.
Burke is now director, Navy Quadrennial Defense Review, N09B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.
