Navy, Coast Guard response to Haitian earthquake

There are 12 Navy, Coast Guard and Military Sealift Command ships in Haiti or en route to the devastated Caribbean nation in the wake of the Jan. 12 earthquake.
They include:
The amphibious assault ship Bataan and dock landing ships Fort McHenry and Carter Hall with embarked Marines from the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.
The dock landing ship Gunston Hall.
Military Sealift Command ships:
The hospital ship Comfort.
The rescue and salvage ship Grasp with embarked FBI dive team.
The dry cargo ship Lewis and Clark.
The container ship PFC Dewayne T. Williams.
Coast Guard units assigned to relief efforts include:
High endurance cutter Dallas.
U.S. Maritime Administration crane ship Cornhusker State, sea barge clipper Cape May, and the high speed ferry Huakai, formerly one of the Hawaiian SuperFerries.
