Updated SRB list coming soon

With one quarter of fiscal 2010 gone, Navy personnel officials are watching their selective re-enlistment bonus budget closely — but they hope to spread that wealth among as many sailors as possible. They plan to release a new list of award levels within the month.
During fiscal 2009, officials overhauled a program that had gone mostly unchanged for years, allowing sailors to collect SRBs only within 90 days of their end-of-service date and telling sailors that award levels could change quickly as officials reach their target retention goals in most critical skills.
“In the past year many policies surrounding SRB, re-enlisting and extending have changed, and we wanted to make sure we reminded everyone of those,” said Rear Adm. Dan Holloway, who heads manpower plans and policies for the chief of naval personnel.
