3 CG flag officers nominated for third stars

President Barack Obama nominated Coast Guard Rear Adm. Sally Brice-O’Hara to be the next vice commandant of the service and receive her third star, according to an announcement released Wednesday.
Brice-O’Hara would be replacing retiring Vice Adm. David Pekoske, who assumed his duties Aug. 7. His predecessor, Vice Adm. Vivien Crea, the first female vice commandant, retired last year. Vice Adm. John Currier will continue to serve as chief of staff. Obama forwarded these nominations to the Senate for approval.
Rear Adm. Brian Salerno will be assigned as the deputy commandant for operations.
The following nominations also need Senate approval:
• Rear Adm. Robert Parker for promotion to vice admiral and assignment as commander, Atlantic area. He will replace Vice Adm. Robert Papp Jr., who was nominated to succeed Adm. Thad Allen as commandant of the Coast Guard.
• Rear Adm. Manson Brown for promotion to vice admiral and assignment as commander, Pacific area. He will replace retiring Vice Adm. Jody Breckenridge.
