Reserve chief quotas down slightly

With the convening of the reserve E-7 board, the annual chief petty officer season has begun.

The chance to make chief in the selected reserve is slightly down to 23.3 percent from last year’s 23.9 percent. There are quotas for 740 petty officers first class to pin on anchors.

The board, delayed just over a week by the May 1 flood, convened Monday, and is expected to work at least into next week. There’s no word yet on when the results will be available.
