CHARLESTON, S.C. — South Carolina's unemployment benefits agency and the Veterans Administration are welcoming back veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The free event is happening Thursday on the aircraft carrier Yorktown in Charleston Harbor.
Vets can attend a job fair sponsored by the Department of Employment and Workforce and the Charleston Defense Contractors Association. Participating employers include Nucor Steel, Honeywell International and the College of Charleston.
The event also features a health fair, guided tours and workshops on getting a job and the ins and outs of managing credit.
There's health information and personnel from the Vet Center's Mobile Outreach Unit. The Air Force's 315th Airlift Wing also displays its mini C-17.
