2013 ConUS COLA with dependents

Service members in 31 high-cost areas across the country qualify for the continental U.S. cost-of-living allowance, or ConUS COLA, in 2013. The allowance compensates service members for nonhousing expenses in areas where these costs exceed the national average by more than 8 percent. To calculate your monthly allowance, multiply the payout rate for your paygrade and years of service by the figure next to duty station in the list of eligible locations found here. The 2013 rates that took effect Jan. 1:
