Iranian state TV released several videos Wednesday showing the 10 U.S.Navy sailors who were captured and detained after their boat drifted into waters claimed by the long-time American adversary.

In one of the videos, an American is seen apologizing in response to an question.

U.S. officials have said the two riverine command boats strayed into Iranian waters near Farsi Island in the Arabian Gulf, which is a base for the elite Revolutionary Guard. "It was a mistake. That was our fault. We apologize for our mistake," one crew member says in the video clip.

Other videos shows the crew being detained in a white-walled room and with Iranian officials scouring the state-of-the-art vessels for potentially sensitive intelligence. They the Iranians inventoriedy the weapons on board, including machine guns, and find found a riverine instruction binder in the cockpit. One clip shows the U.S. crewmembers — nine men and one woman — surrendering as they kneel on the swaying boat's deck, hands on their heads.

The U.S. State Department had denied Iran's claims that U.S. officials apologized to Iran, in part to secure the sailors' release.
