The Service Members of the Year Awards recognize brave men and women from each branch of service who have displayed exemplary achievement beyond the call of duty. To be considered for this honor, service members must demonstrate a passion, drive and attitude that embodies the spirit of professional excellence. IHG® Army Hotels takes great pride in being a sponsor of this event and celebrating the achievements of these service members. Their acts of service have inspired many, and their dedication serves as an example of what can be achieved through hard work and sacrifice.

With that, we’d like to take a moment to congratulate the 2023 recipients:

  • MSG Justin Bolin – Soldier of the Year
  • MSgt. Kevin Haunschild – Marine of the Year
  • HM2 Anthony Anglikowski – Sailor of the Year
  • Maj. Katie Lunning – Airman of the Year
  • Capt. Victoria Garcia – Guardian of the Year
  • Lt. Chelsea Sheehy – Coast Guardsman of the Year
  • Lindsey Streeter – Veteran of the Year

The bravery and selflessness of these service members inspires all of us here at IHG Army Hotels. Many of our colleagues are military veterans or military family members, and work tirelessly every day to support those who serve. With hotels inside 40 U.S. Army installations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, we are conveniently located where military travelers need us most, and we offer the same comforts and amenities our travelers expect when staying at our off-post locations. Visitors can count on complimentary hot breakfasts, free guest internet, fitness centers, pet-friendly accommodations, business centers, guest laundry facilities, and so much more. Meanwhile, Retirees can rely on the comfort, cleanliness, and security of IHG Army Hotels but at a discounted Retiree Rate and advance reservations up to one year ahead.

Of course, our dedication extends far beyond providing comfort and care for service members, families, civilians and contractors on post. IHG Army Hotels actively engages with local communities through various charitable initiatives. We organize collections of food, hygiene products, and more for those less fortunate within our post communities. And, in some locations, our hotels often lend laundry facilities and shuttle services to the residents of their local Fisher House – a home away from home for service members’ families while their loved ones receive long-term medical care. Our teams also fundraise for various causes year-round, such as Tunnel to Towers, which provides housing and assists families of first responders and injured veterans. This year, we set ourselves a goal of raising $200,000 for this organization. These efforts make a big difference in not only the lives of those who serve our country, but also the lives of their family members.
