Actor Jim Caviezel will star in the pilot episode for a new Navy SEAL drama on CBS, according to Variety.

Caviezel will play the role of Jason, the leader of a SEAL assault team, in the pilot that will follow the lives of the SEALs as they prepare and deploy for dangerous missions around the globe.

Caviezel, who starred in the CBS series "Person of Interest" for five seasons, will be joined by actors Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr. and Toni Trucks.

"A.J. Buckley…. plays the self-destructive, on-edge but loyal Sonny;" writes Oriana Schwindt for Variety.

"Max Thieriot [plays] a millennial SEAL who is extremely capable but deeply insecure beneath layers of swagger and confidence; Neil Brown Jr. [plays] Ray, the longest-tenured member of Jason's assault team, and his most trusted friend and colleague; and Toni Trucks [plays] Diaz, the logistics officer," she added.

The show will be written by Ben Cavell from FX's "Justified" and the new Amazon crime drama "Sneaky Pete."

The untitled show is the seventh pilot ordered by CBS this year. The show will be filmed in New Orleans, according to The Times-Picayune
