Navy sailor Ellis Jarahan Bradley of Suisun City, California, was arrested just in time.

"He was in the process of leaving the state," said Suisun City police Commander Andrew White to the Times-Herald News. "He was going to leave tomorrow."

The 25-year-old attempted to rob a Walmart Money Center in Suisun City on April 17. "He presents a note that directs he has a gun and shows the gun in his waistband," police Cmdr. Andrew White told the Times-Herald News.

The suspect ran off after the clerk was unable to open the register.
When the car’s owner returned, he identified himself as 25-year-old Ellis Bradley, active duty Navy sailor. "The officer had no cause to hold him so he was released," White told Times-Herald News.
After further investigation, revealed the identity of the suspect, causing local law enforcement notified the Air Force, NCIS and the FBI since Bradley "was on base (Travis Air Force Base) at some event."

It was believed that Bradley was staying at a house in the 200 block of Brookside Drive in Suisun City, where he was served a warrant for his arrest. A warrant was also obtained for his car, where a search turned up a firearm, which was seized.

The Times-Herald News noted that Bradley was to be arraigned April 19 in Solano County Superior Court in Fairfield.
