A disabled Navy veteran and a former Navy SEAL have spearheaded the creation of a new song to honor veterans and benefit veterans charities.

"No One Gets Left Behind" features the vocal talents of Leland Grant, one half of the duo The Line on Season 2 of NBC's "The Voice" and country music star "Big" Vinny Hickerson of the duo Trailer Choir, who was featured in Season 12 of NBC's "The Biggest Loser."

The song idea originated with disabled Navy vet MuLLady (his legal name) and former Navy SEAL Brett Lynch. They enlisted the help of Grammy-nominated songwriter Steven Dale Jones, Dave Simpson, a retired Navy senior chief, and Todd Beauchamp.

"We put this together for veterans," MuLLady said. "The whole point is to find a home for the song so we can raise money for veterans' charities."

MuLLady and Lynch come from military families. Both MuLLady's parents were in the military. His father is a retired Air Force major and his grandfather, Silver Star recipient Milton Warren, stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.

Lynch's dad, Jack, a SEAL in Vietnam was president of the UDT-Seal Association, a veterans support organization of past, present and legacy members of the Naval Special Warfare community.

They met during SEAL training. Mullady had served in supply aboard the destroyer Gary and did naval security work in Panama before volunteering for BUD/S in 1997. He made it through Hell Week, but a head injury made him ineligible to join a team so he left the service shortly afterward. Lynch served on SEAL Team Two and left the service as a first class petty officer in 2005. He later studied film making at Columbia Film School in Hollywood.

The song was inspired by the heroes of Operation Red Wings, the SEAL counter-insurgency mission in Afghanistan that was later featured in the book and movie "Lone Survivor."

The lyrics pretty well sum up what the effort is all about:

"We do this for our sisters and our brothers
It ain't politics, or one side or the other
It's life or death, and it's our time
We'll stand together and lay it on the line
So no one, no one gets left behind."

It's worth a moment of your time this Veterans Day to listen to this inspirational song.
