North Korea claimed Wednesday to have successfully placed a spy satellite into orbit with its third launch attempt this year.
The two leaders held a summit that the U.S. warned could lead to a deal to supply ammunition for Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
North Korea’s space agency said it would make a third launch attempt in October.
The tests came three days after U.S., South Korea and Japanese leaders met and agreed to increase cooperation on their ballistic missile defenses.
