A 21-year-old sailor has been laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery more than 80 years after he was killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
Joining the president at Arlington National Cemetery was his wife, First lady Jill Biden, and military leaders — including Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Army Gen. Mark Milley. chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
Nov. 9 and 10 will be the first time in 78 years that Tomb Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery will allow visitors to enter the chains surrounding the Tomb, allowing the public to lay flowers.
